moving. Ronnie joked that William must have had a
fortune cookie for breakfast and that’s how he knew what
would happen. This brought a few chuckles from the
members. Michael then asked what they might have hit,
to which William replied, “Probably a whale.” However,
no one had the courage to go down and check to verify.
The power suddenly went out. “Lovely, now the power
goes out?!” This situation was really bad! William
was mad, Michael was scared, and I thought we were
stuck here. But Ronnie said that if the company cannot
communicate with us, then they will send a Rescue Team
to find out what happened to us. I patted Ronnie on the
back. The mission would end in about 7 days, so we have
to survive 7 days in the sea, which is easier said than done.
Vincent, the smartest and the hottest crew member, did
some calculations and told us that we would run out of
food and water on the fourth day. “Great, now we had to
starve because your boss was so selfish?!” William, in an
agitated tone, told me. The night fell, so we decided to go
to bed. I was woken up by the continuous shaking, but
then an ear-piercing screech was heard. After the screech
ended, I heard Vincent say, “That didn’t sound like a
whale!” I replied to him, “Yeah, you handsome Sherlock!”
All of us gathered on the deck to see what was going on.
Whatever this thing was, it had to be bigger than a whale!
Now, someone had to go down and check what it was, but
nobody could. Everyone decided to go to sleep and discuss
this in the morning. The shaking and the screeching
continued throughout the night. I felt bad for whatever we
had hit, as it was screaming in pain throughout the night.
I woke up in the morning in a very bad mood, but I was
not the only one—nobody could sleep last night. We were
all given jobs to do—William was our chef, Ronnie was
his assistant, Michael was on the deck, and lastly, Vincent
2
