and I were in the captain’s room. We really didn’t have
anything to do, so we just chatted about life. Vincent and
I pretty much knew each other our whole lives. After a
few uneventful hours, we saw through the night vision
cameras something coming out of the cave. But we
couldn’t make out what it was; then the cameras started
malfunctioning. Then Michael yelled at us, “Come to the
deck now NOW!” Vincent then told me, “Let’s go!” We
arrived on the deck to see something horrific—a massive
tail sticking out of the water! It looked like a snake! “Was
that a bloody snake?! There is no way a snake can get that
big!” I guess we hit that thing. The base started shaking
again! The drill started to break. William, in an agitated
voice, yelled at me that it was my fault, that if I wasn’t so
selfish, none of this would have happened! “Now, boss,
you will go down there and check what it is!” Even though
I was mad, I couldn’t blame him. “Boss, if you’re actually
going down there, I will get your diving gear.” Before I
jumped in the water, Vincent came over to me, patted me
on the back, and wished me good luck, which, for some
reason, made me blush. But this was not the time to think
about stuff like this.
So, I dove in the water.
